| Children are very impressionable, because of this, parents are able to regiment there feeding, sleeping and play times in to a workable schedule. When setting up a schedule make sure it contains some diversity to provide different points of view for your child and the availability for you to try new things. When feeding your child, switch sides every feeding. If they rested on your left arm for the first feeding of the day, have them rest on your right arm for the second feeding and continue the cycle. This will help with brain development by providing different aspects of vision. When it’s time for your child to sleep, do your best to put them in their bed. The more time they spend there the more comfortable they will be in it. If possible try to have them sleep in different places, like grandma’s house. Once they become acclimated with different surroundings it makes it much easier for them to stay there if needed. Playtime is always the best time. When playing, provide different types of stimulation with new toys, sounds, games and books. This helps expand your child’s imagination along with keeping them open to change. If possible, make play dates with other parents to help socialize your child and also look into baby classes such as music class or swimming lessons. Keeping a diverse schedule will help your child develop and make it easier for them to adjust to change in the future. |
